The New Golden Legend (La nouvelle Légende dorée) is a video series produced by ILIAS.
A voiceover reads the story of a saint's life (rewritten from the Golden Legend by Jacobus de Voragine (or Giacomo da Varazze in Italian) and other Christian sources) while images from the story unfold: a person describes an encounter that profoundly impacted their life and sparked a kind of enlightenment. This encounter might be with a follower of an ashram who presents himself as a guru, a virtual meeting with Elvis Presley, or with a wisteria... The contemporary narrative resonates in one way or another with the saint's life, and together they offer a modern version of Jacobus de Voragine's original medieval hagiography.

The videos are in french but can be subtitled in any linguage.
